Baire René-Louis (b. 1874-01-21 / d. 1932-07-05)
René-Louis Baire was a French mathematician most famous for his Baire category theorem, which helped to generalize and prove future theorems. His theory was published originally in his dissertation Sur les fonctions de variable réelles ("On the Functions of Real Variables") in 1899. Since he was young, Baire always had "delicate" health. He had developed problems with his esophagus before he attended school and he would occasionally experience severe attacks of agoraphobia. From time to time, his health would prevent him from working or studying. The bad spells became more frequent, immobilizing him for long periods of time. Over time, he had developed a kind of psychological disorder that made him unable to undertake work that required long periods of concentration. At times this would make his ability to research mathematics impossible. Between 1909 and 1914 this problem continually plagued him and his teaching duties became more and more difficult. He was given a leave of absence from the University of Dijon due to all these breakdowns. He retired from Dijon in 1925 and spent his last years living in multiple hotels that he could afford with his meager pension.

He was an American actor, television director, producer and executive. He was a child actor who managed to make the transition to an adult career. Cooper was the first child actor to receive an Academy Award nomination. At age 9, he was also the youngest performer to have been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role—an honor that he received for the film Skippy (1931). For nearly 50 years, Cooper remained the youngest Oscar nominee in any category, until he was surpassed by Justin Henry's nomination, at age 8, in the Supporting Actor category for Kramer vs. Kramer (1979). Cooper died after a short illness.

He was a member of the wealthy Saudi bin Laden family and the founder of the jihadist organization al-Qaeda, responsible for the September 11 attacks on the United States and numerous other mass-casualty attacks against civilian and military targets. As a result of his dealings in and advocacy of violent extremist jihad, Osama bin Laden lost his Saudi citizenship and was disowned by his billionaire family. According to U.S. officials a team of 20-25 US Navy SEALs under the command of the Joint Special Operations Command and working with the CIA stormed bin Laden's compound in two helicopters. Bin Laden and those with him were killed during a firefight in which U.S. forces experienced no injuries or casualties. The site is just a few kilometers from the Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul. DNA from bin Laden's body, compared with DNA samples on record from his dead sister, confirmed bin Laden's identity. The body was recovered by the US military and was in its custody until, according to news sources, his body was buried at sea with Islamic traditions with one U.S. official stating that "finding a country willing to accept the remains of the world's most wanted terrorist would have been difficult."

He was an African American mathematician and nuclear scientist, who gained first fame on entering the University of Chicago at age 13, becoming its youngest ever student. His intelligence led to him being referred to as a "negro genius" in the media. In a widely varied and notable career, Wilkins contributed to the Manhattan Project during the Second World War. He also gained fame working in and conducting nuclear physics research in both academia and industry. He wrote numerous scientific papers, served in various important posts, earned several significant awards and helped recruit minority students into the sciences. During his studies, and various careers he was not untouched by the prevalent racism that existed for much of his life.

His career was highlighted by a silver medal in the Men's Best Trick competition at the 2005 Winter X Games. Kargola died after sustaining a head injury and internal bleeding on the second day of the Desert Assassins' Rip to the Tip motocross event in Baja California.

He was an American actor who appeared in supporting roles in major film productions and also starred in several low-budget B-movies, including two cult horror films. Campbell has also obtained cult status for his guest starring roles on Star Trek, appearing first as the mischievous super-being Trelane (in part a parody of Liberace, whom Campbell resembled), in an episode of the original series called "The Squire of Gothos". Campbell also appeared three times as the Klingon Captain Koloth. Campbell first played Koloth on the original Star Trek series in the classic episode "The Trouble With Tribbles." He reprised the Koloth role on the series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, some thirty years later. Campbell appeared at several Trek conventions in the 1980s and 1990s and many Star Trek fans consider Campbell's portrayal of the Trelane character as the first introduction of the "Q culture" to the series. (The Q are an omnipotent race made part of The Next Generation, then Deep Space 9 and Voyager series.) His last appearance was at the convention organized by Creation Entertainment at the Las Vegas Hilton in August 2006.

Sarrazin died after a brief battle with cancer, with his daughters, Catherine and Michele, at his side.

Lumet died aged 86 in his residence in Manhattan, New York from lymphoma. When asked in a 1997 interview how he wanted to "go out," Lumet responded, "I don't think about it. I'm not religious. I do know that I don't want to take up any space. Burn me up and scatter my ashes over Katz's Delicatessen."

He was a Central African politician who was President of the Central African Republic from 1993 until 2003, when he was deposed by the rebel leader François Bozizé. Patassé was the first president in the CAR's history (since 1960) to be chosen in what was generally regarded as a fairly democratic election (1993) in that it was brought about by donor pressure on the Kolingba regime and assisted by the UN Electoral Assistance Unit. He was chosen a second time in a fair election (1999) as well. However, during his first term in office (1993–1999), three military mutinies in 1996–1997 led to increasing conflict between so-called "northerners" (like Patassé) and "southerners" (like his predecessor President André Kolingba). Expatriate mediators and peacekeeping troops were brought in to negotiate peace accords between Patassé and the mutineers and to maintain law and order. During his second term as president, Patassé increasingly lost the support of many of his long-time allies as well as the French, who had intervened to support him during his first term in office. Patassé was ousted in March 2003 and went into exile in Togo.

(born Calvert Russell Kosler) He was an American roots rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. At 12 he started to learn guitar and at 13 joined a band called 'The Cavemen'. In 1989 he met Patrick Mathe of the French record label New Rose. After his first album was released, Russell started touring in Europe in 1990. The tone of protest in several of his songs made him very popular among Europeans, more so than in the United States. While the release of This is My Life, he was at a gas station in Texas. His passed of adolescent reappears with violence. A policeman noticed the dirtiness of the panes of his car and asked him to get out. When the police discovered that he was a former prisoner, they called the masters dogs by radio. They found his grass. His passport was confiscated, and this peccadillo risked inducing the cancellation of all his suspended sentences, and ten years of prison. Finally the things arranged themselves, with a placement in semi-liberty under rehabilitation.

She was a convicted American serial killer. In the 1980s, Puente ran a boarding house in Sacramento, California, and cashed the Social Security checks of her elderly and mentally disabled boarders. She was a Brazilian actress, model and writer. She also appeared on the cover of the April 2008 issue of Playboy Brazil. On June 7, 2008, Cibele Dorsa suffered a grave car accident that killed the friend who drove the car and caused her severe injuries. She stayed one month in hospital and more two months immobilized. From this tragic experience she wrote a book titled 5:00 da Manhã (meaning 5:00 A.M. in Portuguese). The title is a reference to the hour when the accident occurred. In 2010, she started a relationship with the Brazil TV presenter Gilberto Scarpa. They planned to get married in April 2011 but Scarpa committed suicide by jumping in their apartment on January 30, 2011. Scarpa jumped through the same window that Cibele Dorsa would end up jumping just two months later.

Also known as Liz Taylor, she was an English-American actress. A former child star, she grew to be known for her acting talent and beauty, as well as her Hollywood lifestyle, including many marriages. In the 1980s, she received treatment for alcoholism. Taylor attended Michael Jackson's private funeral on 3 September 2009. In November 2004, Taylor announced that she had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure, a progressive condition in which the heart is too weak to pump sufficient blood throughout the body, particularly to the lower extremities: the ankles and feet. She broke her back five times, had both her hips replaced, survived a benign brain tumor operation and skin cancer, and faced life-threatening bouts with pneumonia twice. Towards the end of her life she was reclusive and sometimes failed to make scheduled appearances due to illness or other personal reasons. She used a wheelchair and when asked about it stated that she had osteoporosis and was born with scoliosis.

Andrianov is the third athlete (male or female) in cumulative Olympic medals after Phelps's 16 and Larissa Latynina, who earned 18 Olympic medals and holds the overall medal record. Andrianov was the most medaled athlete at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Within the sport of Men's Artistic Gymnastics, he also holds the record for most individual Olympic medals (12) and shares the record for most individual Olympic Gold medals (6), tied with Boris Shakhlin and Dmitry Bilozerchev (the latter of which only if you count the 1984 Alternate Olympics). In many other rankings among all-time medal winners at the Olympic, World, and European levels, he ranks very highly, (for example, he is 2nd only to Vitaly Scherbo in total individual medal counts at either the gold level or any level at the combined Olympic and World levels as well as at the combined Olympic, World, and European levels) – easily making him one of the most decorated gymnasts of all-time. In his final years, Andrianov developed the degenerative neurological disorder multiple system atrophy and in his final months was unable to move his arms or legs or talk. Andrianov died on 21 March 2011 at the age of 58, in his hometown of Vladimir. Russia's national gymnastic team coach, Alexander Alexandrov, called the death "tragic", but stated that he had been ill for a long time.

She was an American entertainer who worked as a stage assistant to magician Harry Houdini from 1925-26. She left the act two months prior to his death on October 31, 1926. She appears in the 2005 television documentary, Houdini: Unlocking the Mystery. She was the author of two novels loosely based on her life: Diary Without Dates and Dancing on a Dime, the latter of which was made into a feature film in 1940 by Universal Studios, as well as the booklet Touring with Houdini, published in 2003.

The book also served as reference for the 2004 film, The Motorcycle Diaries, in which he was played by Rodrigo de la Serna, while Che Guevara was played by Gael García Bernal. An elderly Alberto Granado makes a short appearance at the end of the film.
