In 1971 he was a member of the Stan Getz quartet (with René Thomas and Bernard Lubat) that recorded the celebrated Getz album Dynasty. In duet, he has recorded with pianist Michel Petrucciani (1994) and accordionist Richard Galliano (2002). His more recent recordings—for example, Sentimental Feeling and Récit proche—combine jazz with rock and world music. In 1964, he was awarded the Prix Django Reinhardt.

He was an Israeli politician and the seventh Prime Minister of Israel, serving two terms, 1983–84 and 1986–1992. Before the establishment of the State of Israel, Shamir was a member of the Irgun, a group that was considered a terrorist group by the United Nations Security Council and was a breakaway from the Haganah. He was the country’s second longest-serving prime minster after David Ben-Gurion. In 2004, Shamir's health declined, with the progression of his Alzheimer's Disease and he was moved to a nursing home. The government turned down a request by the family to finance his stay at the facility.

He died at age 43 from injuries suffered in a crash while piloting an ultralight aircraft, soon after taking off from the Tuscola Area Airport near Caro, Michigan. Overton had just married a few weeks before the accident.

He was an Italian racing driver. He stands out in the history of Grand Prix motor racing for his much copied 'straight-arm' driving style and his status as the first ever Formula One World Champion.
A notable character in early World Championship Grand Prix racing, Farina was noted for his driving style and intelligence, but also his petulant streak and his disregard for his fellow competitors on the race track. He was involved in the fatal accidents of Marcel Lehoux in the 1936 Grand Prix de Deauville and László Hartmann at Tripoli in 1938. It was ironic that after all the injuries he sustained in the latter part of his career, it was in a car crash that he finally lost his life at Chambery in France, whilst driving to spectate at the 1966 French Grand Prix.

From an early age Enzo was grooming his son to be his successor, and therefore sent him to some of the best schools in Europe. Dino studied engineering in Switzerland. Dino suggested to Enzo Ferrari the development of a 1.5 L DOHC V6 engine for F2 at the end of 1955. Soon afterwards, Alfredo fell ill, suffering from muscular dystrophy. While in hospital, he discussed technical details with the engineer Vittorio Jano. Dino would never see the engine; he died at the age of 24, before his namesake automobiles Fiat Dino and Dino were produced.
