He was an Australian racing driver who was Formula One champion in 1959, 1960 and 1966. He was a founder of the Brabham racing team and race car constructor that bore his name. Brabham retired to Australia after the 1970 Formula One season, where he bought a farm and maintained various business interests, which included the Engine Developments racing engine manufacturer and several garages. He died at his home on the Gold Coast, following a lengthy battle with liver disease. He was eating breakfast with his wife, Margaret, when he died.

Jacqueline gave birth to a premature son, whom she and John named Patrick Bouvier Kennedy, via emergency caesarian section at Otis Air Force Base on August 7, 1963. Because his lungs were not fully developed, Patrick could not breathe and he was air lifted to Boston's Children's Hospital where he was placed in an oxygen-rich, pressurized room. He died of Hyaline Membrane Disease (now known as Respiratory Distress Syndrome) on August 9, 1963.
In January 1994, Onassis was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a form of cancer. Her diagnosis was announced to the public in February. The family was initially optimistic, and she stopped smoking at the insistence of her daughter. By April 1994, the cancer had spread and she died in her sleep at the age of 64, on what would have been her father's 103rd birthday.

He was a French Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Rector of the Catholic Institute of Paris from 1907 until his death, and was elevated to the cardinalate in 1935. He was elected as a member of the Académie française, like his grandfather, on 2 May 1918. Baudrillart initially supported the Vichy government of Marshal Philippe Pétain, along with Cardinal Suhard, and in August 1941 - as a fervent anti-communist - even supported the creation of a Legion of French Volunteers Against Bolshevism; however in early 1942 he openly protested in public against the anti-Semitic measures of the Vichy government in shops and theatres; he also decried the Hitler regime as unhuman (in private conversation). He was however strongly opposed to British diplomacy and military action.Baudrillart's private opposition inspired Cardinal Suhard to publish his Open Protest against the deportation of Jews in July, 1942. The Cardinal died in Paris, at age 83. He was solemnly buried in the chapel Des Carmes at the Catholic Institute (Institut Catholique).

At the age of 46, a few weeks after leaving the service, Lawrence was fatally injured in a motorbike accident on a Brough Superior SS100 in Dorset, close to his cottage, Clouds Hill, near Wareham. A dip in the road obstructed his view of two boys on their bicycles; he swerved to avoid them, lost control and was thrown over the handlebars of his motorcycle. He died six days later. The spot is marked by a small memorial at the side of the road.
