Portas Miguel (b. 1958-05-01 / d. 2012-04-24)
He was a Portuguese politician and a Member of the European Parliament for the Left Bloc, part of the European United Left–Nordic Green Left group. He was a member of the Committee on Culture and Education of the European Parliament and a member of the Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries. He died of lung cancer in April 2012. The disease was diagnosed in 2010.

Cultivated, expressing himself well, he explains the existence of delinquency by "the inequalities of bourgeois society", and obtains the support of many intellectuals and artists, such as Léo Ferré, Jacques Higelin who composed a song for him album Fallen from the sky.

He was an Italian novelist, literary critic, philosopher, semiotician, and university professor. He is widely known for his 1980 novel Il nome della rosa (The Name of the Rose), a historical mystery combining semiotics in fiction with biblical analysis, medieval studies, and literary theory. He later wrote other novels, including Il pendolo di Foucault (Foucault's Pendulum) and L'isola del giorno prima (The Island of the Day Before). His novel Il cimitero di Praga (The Prague Cemetery), released in 2010, topped the bestseller charts in Italy. Eco died at his Milanese home of pancreatic cancer.

He was a writer of children's literature, best known for being the co-creator with his wife Annette Tison of the Barbapapa series. Taylor was born in 1933 in San Francisco. Little is known about him, except that he was the companion of Annette Tison, the co-creator of the famous Barbapapa series; initially published as an album in 1970, before becoming a cartoon and a magazine in 1976. According to them, Talus heard a child asking for "barbe à papa" in French. He asked Annette what was the child was saying? she said that child wants candy floss. So they drew the father like pink candy floss and invented other family members. He worked as a biology/mathematics teacher. Annette Tison was born in Paris in 1942. She studied architecture. The couple met at a Paris cafe and a writing relationship ensued, from which Barbapapa was born. Soon after, they were married. Taylor died in 2015 in Paris.

Steve Kordek was an American businessman of Polish origin who was best known for the design of the pinball machines. Kordek is credited with designing over 100 pinball machines. The last game Kordek helped design was 2003's Vacation America, based on the National Lampoon's Vacation movies. Among the companies that Kordek designed for are Genco, Williams and Bally. Kordek was credited with many innovations to pinball machines. He revised the pin game machines of the 1930s by including putting two outward-facing flippers at the bottom of the playing field that were controlled by two buttons on the side of the machine. Other innovations still used today are drop targets and multi-ball mode.

Adler Berriman "Barry" Seal was a commercial airline pilot who became a major drug smuggler for the Medellín Cartel. When Seal was convicted of smuggling charges, he became an informant for the Drug Enforcement Administration and testified in several major drug trials. He was murdered in 1986 by contract killers hired by the cartel. On the evening of February 19, 1986, Seal was shot to death in front of the Salvation Army Center, three weeks into his probation. When Seal pulled into the house's lot and parked, a man got out of a car behind the center's donation drop boxes and opened fire with a suppressed MAC-10 machine gun. Seal was hit six times and died instantly. Six Colombians were quickly arrested in connection with the murder. Three of them, Luis Carlos Quintero-Cruz, Miguel Vélez, and Bernardo Antonio Vásquez, were indicted on state charges for capital murder. A fourth man was indicted separately on lesser charges, and evidence of direct involvement was insufficient for two, who were released and deported. In addition to the state charges against the killers, federal charges were filed against Fabio Ochoa, Pablo Escobar, and a third cartel member, Rafael Cardona, for conspiring to violate Seal's civil rights by murdering him.

He was an Australian rock musician, best known for being the lead singer and lyricist of Australian hard rock band AC/DC from 1974 until his death in 1980.
He passed out after a night of heavy drinking in a London club called MusicMachine (hosted at the Camden Palace, later known as the KOKO). He was left to sleep in a car owned by an acquaintance named Alistair Kinnear, at 67 Overhill Road in East Dulwich, South London. The following afternoon, Kinnear found Scott lifeless, and alerted the authorities. Scott was rushed to King's College Hospital in Camberwell, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Although common folklore claims that ingestion of vomit or drugs were the cause of Scott's death, the official cause was listed as "acute alcohol poisoning" and "death by misadventure." Scott was cremated and his ashes were interred by his family in Fremantle, Western Australia, the area to which they had moved to when he was a boy.

Edward Lee Morgan was an American hard bop trumpeter. Morgan was murdered in the early hours of February 19, 1972, at Slugs', a jazz club in New York City's East Village where his band was performing. Following an altercation between sets, Morgan's common-law wife Helen More (a.k.a. Morgan), shot him in the chest onstage, killing him within moments. He was 33 years old. According to an eye witness, Miss More (13 years his senior) walked out of the club just before the last set. She returned and the band was already on stage. Lee was trying to get up there, but was talking with some people. He just started to get up the stage, when she entered and called his name. He turned around and she shot him in the heart. She then turned the gun on the club's doorman Ernie Holman, who grabbed her wrist and took the gun away from her. She started to scream "Baby, what have I done?" and ran to him. She was later arrested, tried, sentenced, and paroled by 1978. Soon after, Helen Morgan returned to her native North Carolina. Reportedly she never spoke publicly of the incident, until she granted an interview a month before her death. She died in Wilmington, NC, from a heart condition, in March 1996. Helen Morgan was 69.

As an old man he became confused and wandered through Lens asking "Where is the control? Where is the control?" as his mind brought back images of the hotels where riders signed check sheets in the first Tours. He regularly ended up at the town's police station, from where he was escorted back home.
He is buried with his three wives in the Cimetière Est in the suburb of Sallaumines, near Lens.

He lived in Göttingen until he was forced out by the Nazi regime in 1933 and thereafter he lectured only outside of Germany. In 1934 he moved to Berlin, where he died.
