Campbell
William. 2011-04-28

Born 1926-10-30. Domain:Performing. Cause of death:Age

He was an American actor who appeared in supporting roles in major film productions and also starred in several low-budget B-movies, including two cult horror films. Campbell has also obtained cult status for his guest starring roles on Star Trek, appearing first as the mischievous super-being Trelane (in part a parody of Liberace, whom Campbell resembled), in an episode of the original series called "The Squire of Gothos". Campbell also appeared three times as the Klingon Captain Koloth. Campbell first played Koloth on the original Star Trek series in the classic episode "The Trouble With Tribbles." He reprised the Koloth role on the series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, some thirty years later. Campbell appeared at several Trek conventions in the 1980s and 1990s and many Star Trek fans consider Campbell's portrayal of the Trelane character as the first introduction of the "Q culture" to the series. (The Q are an omnipotent race made part of The Next Generation, then Deep Space 9 and Voyager series.) His last appearance was at the convention organized by Creation Entertainment at the Las Vegas Hilton in August 2006.

Bacon
Francis. 1992-04-28

82

Born 1909-10-28. Domain:Painting. Cause of death:Heart attack

In 1964, Bacon began a relationship with 39-year-old Eastender George Dyer, whom he met, he claimed, while the latter was burgling his apartment. A petty criminal with a history of borstal and prison, Dyer was a somewhat tortured individual, insecure, alcoholic, appearance obsessed and never really fitting in within the bohemian set surrounding Francis. The relationship was stormy and in 1971, on the eve of Bacon's major retrospective at the Paris Grand Palais, Dyer committed suicide in the hotel room they were sharing, overdosing on barbiturates. The event was recorded in Bacon's 1973 masterpiece Triptych, May-June 1973. In 1974, Bacon met John Edwards, a young, illiterate, handsome Eastender with whom he formed one of his most enduring friendships, eventually bequeathing his Ł11m fortune to Edwards after his death. Bacon died of a sudden heart attack in Madrid, Spain.

In twelve angry men:
The jury consists of the following (identified only by numbers, all are white men):
The Foreman (Juror #1, played by Martin Balsam)
Juror #2 (John Fiedler)
Juror #3 (Lee J. Cobb)
Juror #4 (E.G. Marshall)
Juror #5 (Jack Klugman is the only survivor at this time - 2007-03-16)
Juror #6 (Edward Binns)
Juror #7 (Jack Warden)
Juror #8 (Henry Fonda)
Juror #9 (Joseph Sweeney)
Juror #10 (Ed Begley) A bitter, ill-spirited racist who makes no secret of his rank hatred for the facts. The most combative of all the jurors, #10 firmly believes the mere fact that the defendant is a minority (he uses "they" and "them" though never explicitly wields a racial epithet) is good enough for conviction, and aggressively tries to get the others to see things his way. His bombast and callousness surpasses even that of #3, and he ultimately alienates all of the other jurors. (Though his racism is revealed early on, he still gets riled when #8 confronts him about why he believes the female witness' testimony but not the defendant's; both were Hispanic. And when he berates juror #11's courtesy asking "What are you so polite about?", #11 quickly fires back with "For the same reason you're not: That is the way I was brought up.")
Juror #11 (George Voskovec)
Juror #12 (Robert Webber)
Warden died of heart and kidney failure in a New York hospital at the age of 85. [edit]

Petacci was with Mussolini in the end. On 27 April 1945, when a convoy of escaping Italian Social Republic members, including Mussolini, was captured by Communist partisans, it is said that Petacci was offered the opportunity to go unmolested. But she firmly refused and, instead, tried to protect Mussolini with her body. On 28 April, she and Mussolini were taken to Mezzagra where she and the Duce were shot. On the following day, 29 April, Mussolini and Petacci's bodies were taken to the Piazzale Loreto in Milan and hung upside down in front of an Esso gas station. The bodies were photographed as a crowd vented their rage upon them.
She was twenty-nine years younger than Mussolini.

Princip
Gavrilo. 1918-04-28

24

Born 1894-07-25. Domain:Society. Cause of death:Infection (Lungs)

Gavrilo Princip (Serbian Cyrillic: Гаврило Принцип, pronounced [ɡǎʋrilo prǐntsiːp]) was a Bosnian Serb member of Young Bosnia who sought an end to Austro-Hungarian rule in Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the age of 19, he assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and the Archduke's wife, Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg, in Sarajevo on 28 June 1914. Princip and his accomplices were arrested and implicated as a nationalist secret society, which initiated the July Crisis and led to the outbreak of World War I. At his trial, Princip stated that: "I am a Yugoslav nationalist, aiming for the unification of all Yugoslavs, and I do not care what form of state, but it must be freed from Austria." Princip was sentenced to twenty years in prison, the maximum for his age, and was imprisoned at the Terezín fortress. He died there from tuberculosis exacerbated by poor prison conditions which had already caused the loss of his right arm. As the centenary of the assassination neared, a plaque at the corner where the assassination took place was put up, which states: "From this place on 28 June 1914, Gavrilo Princip assassinated the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sofia." On 21 April 2014, a bust of Princip was unveiled in Tovariševo, and on the centenary itself, a statue was erected in East Sarajevo.

Bonnot
Jules. 1912-04-28

36

Born 1876-10-14. Domain:Society. Cause of death:Murder

On April 28, police tracked Bonnot (now France's "most wanted" criminal) to a house in the Paris suburb of Choisy-le-Roi. They besieged the residence with 500 armed police officers, soldiers, firemen, military engineers and a lynch mob of local citizens. Armed with three Brownings and a Bayard pistol, Bonnot succeeded in wounding three police officers. By noon, after sporadic firing failed to extract Bonnot from the house, Paris Police Chief Louis Lépine ordered the building bombed, using a dynamite charge. The explosion demolished the front of the building. Barely conscious, lying underneath a mattress, Bonnot was shot ten times in the upper-body before Lépine shot him non-fatally in the head. Afterwards police had to prevent the spectators from lynching Bonnot. They simply told the crowd that Bonnot was already dead and had been buried in a secret grave. Bonnot was moved to the Hotel-Dieu and pronounced dead at 1:15 PM. He was buried in an unmarked grave and police refused to release his last will and testament.

64

Born 1839-02-11. Domain:Science (Physics style). Cause of death:Other

He was an American scientist who made important theoretical contributions to physics, chemistry, and mathematics. His work on the applications of thermodynamics was instrumental in transforming physical chemistry into a rigorous deductive science. According to Robert A. Millikan, in pure science Gibbs "did for statistical mechanics and for thermodynamics what Laplace did for celestial mechanics and Maxwell did for electrodynamics, namely, made his field a well-nigh finished theoretical structure." Gibbs died in New Haven, aged 64, the victim of an acute intestinal obstruction.
