Roger Hassenforder was a French professional racing cyclist from Alsace. Hassenforder was a professional cyclist from 1952 to 1965. He was known as the joker of the pack, earning him the nickname "boute-en-train". He was known for his interviews during the course. His major victories as cyclist were in the Tour de France, but he did not win much in other races. His best years were 1955-1959, when he won eight stages in the Tour and wore the yellow jersey for four days. After his cycling career ended, he opened a restaurant in Kaysersberg, that was a favourite meeting place for cycling fans in the 1960s, and continued to be ran by the Hassenforder family.

Gao Chengyong (Chinese: 高承勇) was a Chinese serial killer and rapist. He mutilated the corpses of his victims, leading to his nickname of the "Chinese Jack the Ripper" in Chinese media. He is thought to have killed eleven women between 1988 and 2002. Over the course of 14 years, Gao raped, killed and mutilated eleven women: nine in Baiyin, Gansu province, and two in Baotou, Inner Mongolia. All his victims were dressed in red. The youngest victim was eight years old. The first murder is thought to have originated in a grocery store he managed with his wife in Baiyin. He would normally operate in daytime and follow his victims home, where he would strike. Gao raped his victims sometimes while they were alive and sometimes after having stabbed them to death. He removed the reproductive organs of some women after killing them and cut the hands and breasts off of at least one of his victims. Police linked the eleven murders for the first time in 2004 and offered a reward of 200,000 yuan. Gao avoided being arrested until a close relative was taken in for an unrelated, minor offence. During a routine DNA test, a close familial relationship to the serial killer was established. On the basis of this, Gao was arrested at the grocery store where he worked in Baiyin on 26 August 2016. According to the Ministry of Public Security, he confessed to the eleven murders. Gao was sentenced to death and stripped of all his assets on 30 March 2018, and was executed by lethal injection on 3 January 2019. Gao was married and had two children. He was from Qingcheng Town, Yuzhong County, Lanzhou, Gansu.

Nagata's career in the Diet was marked by numerous embarrassing and controversial episodes.
On November 20, 2000, Diet member Kenshiro Matsunami doused Nagata with water for suggesting that he had slept with female Diet member Chikage Ogi. Nagata later claimed he had said nothing of the sort and was actually only stating that then Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori was unfit to be the leader of his country.
On April 5, 2001, he asked questions at the main session of the Diet without written notes, opening the doors for a new level of preparedness in younger politicians who do not need to follow scripts in making speeches or during hearings, unlike their older peers.
In November 2002, a convict was killed at Nagoya Prison after being blasted with a high-pressure water hose. Nagata and others tried to prove that this was not an accident and that the officers who committed the act were, indeed, negligent by conducting a similar experiment on a mannequin. However, it was later revealed that the water pressure of the hose used in the experiment was more than ten times that of what had been used at the time of the incident, and, hence, the DPJ was later forced to apologize.
On March 11, 2004, he made disparaging remarks about Keizō Obuchi, Yoshiro Mori, and Junichiro Koizumi. The ruling Liberal Democratic Party protested and his remarks were removed from the record.
In July 2005, he accused the LDP coalition party, the New Komeito Party, of illegally moving voter registrations to Tokyo in the recent metropolitan elections. Nagata had no proof and based his statements on rumor, and the DPJ apologized to the Komeito.
In a similar incident in August 2005, Nagata accused the Komeito supporter group, the Soka Gakkai, of not registering as a religious group. The group has been registered as such since 1952, and the group brought suit against Nagata for libel later that month.
On February 16, 2006, it was revealed that an email he was using to accuse the LDP of accepting illegal funds from the discredited Livedoor corporation was fake. When it was revealed that the email was faked by a freelance reporter and handed to Nagata, and that he had trusted the source without question, the scandal became the sole topic of news for several weeks. Nagata finally revealed his source and had his party membership suspended on February 28 for 6 months.
He resigned on March 31, 2006 in reaction to the fallout from using a fake e-mail to suggest that LDP politicians had accepted funds and bribes from former Livedoor CEO Takafumi Horie.
Nagata committed suicide by leaping from a high-rise building.

Stewart raced a Cooper Bristol for the Scottish Ecurie Ecosse team at the 1953 British Grand Prix, but failed to finish after crashing at Copse.
His career, which began in local sprints and hillclimbing, saw his greatest successes coming in sportscar racing.
He won a host of events in Britain and abroad before retiring in 1955 at the age of just 24.
After his racing career ended, he worked in vehicle sales in the UK and America, and beat a 40-year battle with alcoholism in the late 1990s before setting up home close to where he grew up near Dumbarton in Scotland.
In his recent Autobiography, Jackie Stewart said: "I owe him almost everything because, when I was young and struggling at school, the world seemed a dark place, I found my real salvation in motor racing.
"But I only found it because, in my difficult time of need and confusion, it was my older brother who carried the torch and selflessly showed me the way.
"It was almost as if Jim was beckoning me to join him on a magic carpet ride, carrying me out of the wilderness at school into the exciting, glamorous world of motor racing."

Stunning Natasha, 32, and the BBC children’s show presenter are said to have stayed up until nearly dawn snorting the Class A drug.
After snatching a few hours’ sleep they woke at lunchtime on Thursday, when Natasha said she felt unwell and went for a bath.
Speight became worried a few minutes later when the bathroom fell silent. He went in and discovered Natasha’s lifeless body in the still warm water.
The CBBC SMart show star pulled her out of the bath and tried desperately to revive her with mouth-to-mouth. He then dialled 999 and paramedics fought in vain to save her.
Police were also called to the couple’s £625,000 penthouse in St John’s Wood, North London, and Speight, 42, was arrested on suspicion of Natasha’s murder.
He was later also arrested for supplying her with a Class A drug after reportedly telling cops how they had snorted cocaine together the night before.
Distraught Speight was taken to Marylebone police station, where he repeatedly broke down sobbing during his interview.
A police source said: “He did everything he could to save her. He was absolutely distraught afterwards and fully cooperative. He gave a full and frank account of what happened.”
She is said to have suffered regular fits after being injured in a car accident several years ago and lapsing into a coma. Neighbours also reported she had recently become painfully thin.
Natasha’s mum Carmen later issued a statement saying: “We are all absolutely distraught over the death of Natasha. She was our loving, caring daughter who was always full of life.”
Natasha met Speight in 1998 when they worked together on kids’ TV show See It Saw It. She played See, a court jester to a king played by Speight. Speight, who first found fame on ITV’s Saturday morning kids’ show Scratchy & Co, has worked on CBBC’s SMart since 1995.
OTHER kids' TV stars caught in scandal include ex-Blue Peter host John Leslie, filmed in a cocaine-fuelled orgy with Abi Titmuss in 2003, and Jamie Theakston, who had sex with a hooker in a Mayfair bondage den. In 1998 Blue Peter axed Richard Bacon over a 12-hour booze and cocaine bender.

He was one of the earliest cartoonists to work in the American comic book industry, and his series The Spirit (1940–1952) was noted for its experiments in content and form. In 1978, he popularized the term "graphic novel" with the publication of his book A Contract with God. He was an early contributor to formal comics studies with his book Comics and Sequential Art (1985). The Eisner Award was named in his honor, and is given to recognize achievements each year in the comics medium; he was one of the three inaugural inductees to the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame. Eisner died in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, of complications from a quadruple bypass surgery performed December 22, 2004.

Frans Masereel was a Flemish painter and graphic artist who worked mainly in France, known especially for his woodcuts focused on political and social issues, such as war and capitalism. He completed over 40 wordless novels in his career, and among these, his greatest is generally said to be Passionate Journey. Masereel's woodcuts influenced Lynd Ward and later graphic artists such as Clifford Harper, Eric Drooker, and Otto Nückel. Frans Masereel died in Avignon in 1972 and was entombed in Ghent.

Jacob Rubenstein, who legally changed his name to Jack Leon Ruby in 1947, was an American nightclub operator in Dallas, Texas. He was convicted on March 14, 1964 of the murder of Lee Harvey Oswald on November 24, 1963, two days after Oswald was arrested for the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. He successfully appealed his conviction and death sentence. As a date for his new trial was being set, he became ill and died.
Arrangements were underway for a new trial to be held in February 1967, in Wichita Falls, Texas, when, on December 9, 1966, Ruby was admitted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, suffering from pneumonia. A day later, doctors realized he had cancer in his liver, lungs, and brain.

However, Jannings' active role in Nazi propaganda meant he was subject to denazification, and any comeback attempt was doomed. He then retired to his farm in Austria. Very proficient in money matters, Jannings was one of the highest paid actors of his time.
