Tapp
James (alias: Soulja Slim). 2003-11-26

26

Born 1977-09-09. Domain:Music. Cause of death:Murder

Better known by his stage name Soulja Slim, he was an American rapper who achieved modest success on Master P's No Limit record label. He is best known for his U.S. #1 hit "Slow Motion" (with Juvenile), which hit #1 posthumously on August 7, 2004 and was his only chart entry.
On Thanksgiving Eve, Slim was en route to a performance when an unknown gunman shot him three times in the face, and once in the chest, in front of his mother's home in the 8th Ward/Gentilly area.
This would be the last of several violent encounters in Slim's life. The source said that a man was in the V.I.P. area of an unnamed club. Slim didn't recognize the man and apparently struck him, before being thrown out of the club.
22-year-old Garelle Smith from the St. Bernard Projects (7th Ward) is known as the potential hitman. Smith was arrested on December 30, 2003 and soon charged with Slim's murder. The charges were subsequently dropped in February 2004.
On December 25 a man named Steven Kennedy was killed; police said that the murder was likely a revenge killing in response to Tapp's murder. Police charged Ivory "B-Stupid" Harris and Jerome Hampton for the crime.

Rosolino
Frank. 1978-11-26

52

Born 1926-08-20. Domain:Music. Cause of death:Suicide

Frank Rosolino was an American jazz trombonist. Born in Detroit, Michigan, in a family that included brothers Russell and Gasper, Rosolino studied the guitar with his father starting at age 9. Frank took up the trombone at age 14, and graduated from Miller High School, while playing in the Cass Tech Symphony Orchestra, a fine music program that also produced Donald Byrd. Following service in the U.S. Army's 86th Division during World War II, he played with the big bands of Bob Chester, Glen Gray, Tony Pastor, Herbie Fields, and Gene Krupa. He became famous during a stint in the most popular of Stan Kenton's progressive big bands, (1952-1954), and settled in Los Angeles, where he worked with everybody in the business. Frank's third wife, and the mother of their two sons, committed suicide in February 1972 in Los Angeles, California, and he was overheard telling his girlfriend that her suicide forced him to contemplate his own death. He died in 1978 in Van Nuys, California, committing suicide after shooting both sons, Justin, 9, and Jason, 7, his only children. Jason survived, blinded, and was adopted by his mother's cousin, Claudia Eien, and her husband Gary. Frank Rosolino also had a daughter: his oldest child, Felecia Rosolino. After his death, she moved to New Zealand, where her real mother lived. She is not mentioned in many biographies of Frank Rosolino. Frank also had another daughter named Parris Rosolino that was born to Leslie Ann Bashore in 1963. She currently resides in Washington State and is actively working on prosecuting the women that confessed to her that she shot Frank and her two brothers Justin and Jason. So may be it was also a murder ? The International Trombone Association established its first award for jazz trombone in Frank's memory, and he continues to be remembered as one of the greatest jazz trombone players of all time.

Jenkins
Florence. 1944-11-26

76

Born 1868-07-19. Domain:Music. Cause of death:Age

Born Narcissa Florence Foster in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, to Charles Dorrance Foster and Mary Jane Hoagland, Jenkins received music lessons as a child, and expressed a desire to go abroad to study music. Her wealthy father refused to pay the bill, so she eloped to Philadelphia with Frank Thornton Jenkins, a medical doctor. The two were married circa 1885, and divorced in 1902. Jenkins earned a living in Philadelphia as a teacher and pianist, and beginning in 1908, began living with St. Clair Bayfield, with whom she would live for the rest of her life. From her recordings, it is apparent that Jenkins had little sense of pitch and rhythm and was barely capable of sustaining a note. Her accompanist can be heard making adjustments to compensate for her tempo variations and rhythmic mistakes. Her dubious diction, especially in foreign language songs, is also noteworthy. Nonetheless, she became tremendously popular in her unconventional way. Her audiences apparently loved her for the amusement she provided rather than her musical ability. Critics often described her work in a backhanded way that may have served to pique public curiosity. After a taxicab crash in 1943 she found she could sing "a higher F than ever before." Instead of filing a lawsuit against the taxicab company, she sent the driver a box of expensive cigars. At the age of 76, Jenkins finally yielded to public demand and performed at Carnegie Hall on October 25, 1944. So anticipated was the performance that tickets for the event sold out weeks in advance. Jenkins died a month later at her residence, the Hotel Seymour in Manhattan. It is said that Hergé took her as a model for his character Bianca Castafiore.
