Born 1935-12-05. Domain:Sport. Cause of death:Age

Yury Petrovich Vlasov was a Soviet and Russian heavyweight weightlifter, writer and politician. He competed at the 1960 and 1964 Olympics and won a gold medal in 1960 and a silver in 1964; at both games, he was the Olympic flag bearer for the Soviet Union. During his career, Vlasov won four world titles and set 31 ratified world records. He retired in 1968 and became a prominent writer and later a politician. He was a member of the Congress of People's Deputies of the Soviet Union (1989) and then of the Russian State Duma (1993) and took part in the 1996 Russian presidential election. In February of 2021, Hollywood superstar and former governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote a message on Twitter about the passing of Yuri Vlasov, who he called his inspiration when he was a young weightlifter. Vlasov’s life story explains why Schwarzenegger said that “it is because of people like him that I refuse to call myself self-made”. Arnold Schwarzenegger later made an impassioned online plea to Russians in March 2022, urging them to ignore the war “propaganda” spewed by the Kremlin and “spread truth” about the bleak reality of the unprovoked attack on Ukraine. In a nine-minute long video clip meant to slip through strict Moscow censors, Schwarzenegger, 74, also invoked his father’s experience fighting with the Nazis in World War II after the annexation of Austria — telling Russians his dad was “pumped up on the lies of his government” and lived the rest of his life in “guilt” and “pain.” The one-time Mr. Universe began by talking about his reverence for the Russian people, cemented when he met world champion weightlifter Yuri Petrovich Vlasov at the age of 14. Schwarzenegger told viewers that Moscow was lying to both the Russian public and troops about their mission to “denazify” Ukraine.

After the wedding, attended by the mayor and two witnesses and kept secret until after they left the country, the couple boarded the SS France at Le Havre for a honeymoon to the United States. They then went directly to Hollywood because Alain Delon had a contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), but it was soon terminated by the American company. Their son, Anthony Delon, was born the following month at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.[3] The Delons lived in the United States for a year before returning to Paris. In 1967, Nathalie became a film actress, starring opposite her husband in the film Le Samouraï by Jean-Pierre Melville, which became a hit.[3] On 14 February 1969, they divorced after four and a half years of marriage, when Alain Delon got involved with Mireille Darc on the set of Jeff by Jean Herman.

Julienne

Born 1930-04-17. Domain:Society. Cause of death:COVID

Rémy Julienne was a French driving stunt performer, stunt coordinator, assistant director and occasional actor. He was also a rallycross champion and 1956 French motorcross champion. He was a veteran of over 1,400 films. Notable large film projects in which he arranged stunts, consulted or manufactured special stunt cars include The Italian Job and six James Bond films, five of which were directed by John Glen and three with his sons Dominique and Michel. His career suffered a setback in 1999, when a stunt went wrong during the filming of Taxi 2, written and produced by Luc Besson and directed by Gérard Krawczyk, causing the death of a cameraman Alain Dutartre and the serious injury of the cameraman's assistant. Julienne accused the production company of taking short cuts in safety equipment, which Besson denied. The case wound up on September 11, 2007, with Julienne receiving an 18-month suspended jail sentence and a €13,000 fine. The prosecutor accused Julienne of "not taking all the necessary measures for the security of the stunt in question" and notably to have "neglected the speed calculations of the car and the length of the jump". Besson's firm EuropaCorp was initially cleared of all charges in 2007. Instead, Julienne, was held solely responsible for the botched scene. But the Paris Court of Appeal reversed the ruling in June 2009, and ordered EuropaCorp pay €100,000. Julienne's jail sentence was reduced to six months, and his fine was reduced from €13,000 to €2,000 but he was required to pay the Dutartre family €50,000 in court costs. EuropaCorp producers were criticised for rejecting Julienne's offers to trial the car scene in question for a price, which the stuntman claims would have prevented the tragedy.

Christopher Maboulou was a French-Congolese professional footballer who played as a winger or as a forward. On March 21, 2014, a controversy broke out about him during the meeting against SM Caen. While Caen leads 1-0 in the 94th minute of play, a free kick from Nasser Chamed is deflected from the hand by Christopher Maboulou. At first, the goal is awarded by referee Christian Guillard and then refused. The player and the staff are indignant at this decision, the referee validates the goal again, a scenario never seen in the history of French football. This controversy will have such an impact that Christopher Maboulou is taken in dislike by many chroniclers like Pierre Ménès who will accuse Maboulou of being "a cheater" and will be constantly hissed by all the other stadiums. Despite his official apologies, he will be suspended 3 games for his gesture. This gesture, which will not avoid the club's relegation to National, obscures his good season, which sees him participate in 32 league games (28 starts), score 10 goals and deliver 3 assists. He died of cardiac arrest during a match between friends in Montfermeil.
