Garreaud Jean-François (b. 1946-04-01 / d. 2020-07-09)

Jean-François Garreaud was a French actor. His best-known role is that of Jean Dabin in Violette Nozière, released in 1978. Garreaud married actress Virginie Ogouz, with whom he had two children. He died in Saint-Jory-de-Chalais on 9 July 2020 at the age of 74.

Simon Fieschi was a French webmaster and writer. He was wounded in the 2015 shooting at the Charlie Hebdo headquarters in Paris and left with severe injuries. On 7 January 2015, he was the first staff member injured in the shooting. A bullet from a Kalashnikov rifle perforated his lung and damaged his spinal cord. He was evacuated to hospital and spent a week in an induced coma. Having lost the use of his legs and hands, he remained in hospital for eight months, learning eventually to walk with the aid of crutches but never regaining full use of his fingers. Fieschi died in his hotel room in Paris, at the age of 40. An investigation was opened to determine the cause of death. He notably received tributes from President of France Emmanuel Macron, former president François Hollande, the cartoonist Coco, and the writer Yannick Haenel

Jolien Verschueren was a Belgian cyclo-cross cyclist, who rode for UCI Cyclo-cross team Pauwels Sauzen–Bingoal. She represented her nation in the women's elite event at the 2016 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Heusden-Zolder. She won the Koppenbergcross in 2015 and repeated this at the 2016 DVV Verzekeringen Trofee Koppenbergcross 2016, besting world champion Thalita de Jong. On 12 April 2018, it was announced that earlier that week Verschueren was operated on to remove a malignant brain tumor. Verschueren tried a comeback in 2019 and 2020 but her health did not allow for good results. Verschueren died of brain cancer.

Viola Clara Smith (née Schmitz) was an American drummer best known for her work in orchestras, swing bands, and popular music from the 1920s until 1975. She was one of the first professional female drummers. She played five times on The Ed Sullivan Show, as well as in two films and the Broadway musical Cabaret. Smith never married. She had been engaged to be married, but the man was drafted into World War II, and the engagement was cancelled. At the time of Smith's 107th birthday in November 2019, it was reported that she occasionally still drummed with bands in Costa Mesa, California, as one of the oldest living mainstream musicians. Smith died on October 21, 2020, at her home in Costa Mesa, California, at the age of 107. She had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease in the time leading up to her death

Joel T. Schumacher was an American filmmaker. Schumacher rose to fame after directing three hit films: St. Elmo's Fire (1985), The Lost Boys (1987), and Flatliners (1990). He later went on to direct the John Grisham adaptations The Client (1994) and A Time to Kill (1996). His films Falling Down (1993) and 8mm (1999) competed for the Palme d'Or and Golden Bear, respectively. In 1993, he signed on to direct the next installments of the Batman film series, Batman Forever (1995) and Batman & Robin (1997). After the Batman films, Schumacher pulled back from blockbusters and returned to making minimalist films such as Tigerland (2000) and Phone Booth (2002), both earning positive reviews. He also directed The Phantom of the Opera (2004), The Number 23 (2007), and two episodes of House of Cards. Known for casting young perfomers, Schumacher helped several actors including Colin Farrell, Kiefer Sutherland, and Matthew McConaughey advance their careers.

He was an American actor, screenwriter, director, and acting coach. Kirsch was born in New York City, New York. He began acting as a young child. His first acting job was at the age of 4 when he appeared in some Campbell's soup television commercials. Kirsch appeared in the short-lived Saturday morning TV series Riders in the Sky and on the soap opera General Hospital in 1992. He has made guest appearances in some TV shows including JAG, Family Law, and Friends. His most notable role began in 1992 on Highlander: The Series as Richie Ryan. He left the show as a regular cast member in the fifth season finale in 1997, but he made one last guest appearance in the series finale episode, "Not To Be" which aired May 17, 1998. Kirsch made his debut as director and producer with the film Straight Eye: The Movie in 2004. In 2008, he founded his own acting studio called Stan Kirsch Studios. On January 11, 2020, 51-year-old Kirsch was found dead in his Los Angeles home. The LA Coroner ruled Kirsch’s death a suicide by hanging.

Leo Egidius Schiffer was a German serial killer, who was known as the "Strangler of Aachen". Between 1983 and 1990, he murdered five girls and women between the ages of 15 to 31, abusing three of them sexually. His crimes were known as "hitchhiker killings" or "Disco-murders". In 1985, the program Aktenzeichen XY … ungelöst covered his case. He was sentenced on August 19, 2008, 18 years after his last murder, by the Aachen Regional Court for murder in five cases and rape in two cases to life imprisonment. The court also noted the particular severity of the guilt. A revision was rejected by the Federal Court of Justice in June 2009. On the morning of July 22, 2018, Schiffer was found dead in his cell in the Bochum correctional facility. There he had connected his body to the power grid using multiple cables to support autoerotic practises, and he died as a result of heart arrhythmia.

He was a French actor. He was a sociétaire of the Comédie-Française since 1952. In 1990, he won César Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his role in Hiver 54, l'abbé Pierre. His other film appearances included The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and in 2006/07 he appeared in Le gardien (a French adaptation of Harold Pinter's The Caretaker) at Théâtre de l'Oeuvre then Théâtre de Paris. In April 2011, he asked Florian Zeller to write a part specially for him. The result was Le Père which had its first performance in Le Théâtre Hébertot, Paris, in September 2012. Hirsch played the central character, André, at the age of 87. He died as a consequence of a fall.

Holger Czukay, born Holger Schüring, was a German musician, probably best known as a co-founder of the krautrock group Can. Described as "successfully bridging the gap between pop and the avant-garde", Czukay was also notable for having created early important examples of ambient music, for having explored "world music" well before the term was coined, and for having been a pioneer of sampling. Czukay's body was discovered inside his apartment on 5 September 2017. The New York Times reported that he died on the same day, but the cause of his death was subject to a police investigation. His death was eventually assumed to be from natural causes.

He was a United States Marine Corps aviator, engineer, astronaut, businessman, and politician. He was the first American to orbit the Earth, circling it three times in 1962. Glenn was in good health for most of his life. He retained a private pilot's license until 2011 when he was 90. He was a German football manager. He last managed Union Berlin. Lewandowski was head coach of VfL Bochum II between 1 July 2006 to 31 December 2006. He was appointed as the head coach of Union Berlin on 1 September 2015. He stepped down on 4 March 2016, after six months in charge. He was born on 5 October 1971 in Dortmund, West Germany. On 9 June 2016, Lewandowski was in a relationship with sports reporter Anne van Eickels and worked as a journalist until 2006. Lewandowski was found dead in his Bochum apartment on June 8, 2016. Shortly before, the police had initially arrested him on suspicion of a child sex offense. The post-mortem revealed that he had committed suicide.
