He was a Czech mathematician known for his contributions to linear algebra, graph theory and algebraic graph theory. His article, "Algebraic Connectivity of Graphs", published in the Czechoslovak Math Journal in 1973, established the use of the eigenvalues of the Laplacian matrix of a graph to create tools for measuring algebraic connectivity in algebraic graph theory.

Juror #7 (Jack Warden) An exceptionally indifferent man, whose sheer apathy winds up offending the other jurors regardless of their vote. He has tickets to a baseball game and clearly will go along with whatever will get him out of the jury room the quickest. He is somewhat of a facetious bully by nature, but is easily enfeebled by someone else's aggressiveness. #11 confronts him about his changing his verdict so thoughtlessly.

The Foreman (Juror #1, played by Martin Balsam)
Juror #2 (John Fiedler)
Juror #3 (Lee J. Cobb)
Juror #4 (E.G. Marshall) An intellectual but unemotional stock broker. He epitomizes conservativism, and simply wants to follow the letter of the law and convict the defendant based on the evidence. To his credit, he has no patience for the sarcasm, indifference or racism displayed respectively by jurors #3, #7 and #10, and once the evidence is shown to be less than conclusive he does not hesitate to admit his mistake.

In twelve angry men:
The jury consists of the following (identified only by numbers, all are white men):
The Foreman (Juror #1, played by Martin Balsam)
Juror #2 (John Fiedler)
Juror #3 (Lee J. Cobb): He owns a small messenger service. He's a short-tempered, highly sarcastic man with a sense of misplaced anger, wanting to convict the defendant for personal reasons, owing mostly to anger over his estranged son. His true colors ultimately emerge when he becomes the last holdout for conviction, referring to the rest of the jurors as a "lousy bunch of bleedin' hearts" during his angry tirade.
Juror #4 (E.G. Marshall)

Born 1901-03-25. Domain:Performing. Cause of death:Heart attack

In twelve angry men:
The jury consists of the following (identified only by numbers, all are white men):
The Foreman (Juror #1, played by Martin Balsam)
Juror #2 (John Fiedler)
Juror #3 (Lee J. Cobb)

Juror #6 (Edward Binns)
Juror #7 (Jack Warden)
Juror #8 (Henry Fonda)
Juror #9 (Joseph Sweeney)
Juror #10 (Ed Begley) A bitter, ill-spirited racist who makes no secret of his rank hatred for the facts. The most combative of all the jurors, #10 firmly believes the mere fact that the defendant is a minority (he uses "they" and "them" though never explicitly wields a racial epithet) is good enough for conviction, and aggressively tries to get the others to see things his way. His bombast and callousness surpasses even that of #3, and he ultimately alienates all of the other jurors. (Though his racism is revealed early on, he still gets riled when #8 confronts him about why he believes the female witness' testimony but not the defendant's; both were Hispanic. And when he berates juror #11's courtesy asking "What are you so polite about?", #11 quickly fires back with "For the same reason you're not: That is the way I was brought up.")
Juror #11 (George Voskovec)
Juror #12 (Robert Webber)
