Larry Claxton Flynt Jr. was an American publisher and the president of Larry Flynt Publications (LFP). LFP mainly produces pornographic magazines, such as Hustler, pornographic videos, and three pornographic television channels named Hustler TV. Flynt fought several high-profile legal battles involving the First Amendment, and unsuccessfully ran for public office. He was paralyzed from the waist down due to injuries sustained in a 1978 assassination attempt by serial killer Joseph Paul Franklin. In 2003, Arena magazine listed him at No. 1 on the "50 Powerful People in Porn" list. Flynt disowned his eldest daughter, Tonya Flynt-Vega, after she became a Christian anti-pornography activist. In her 1998 book Hustled, she says that Flynt sexually abused her as a child, often calling her names. Flynt denied the charges, saying he passed a polygraph test and to be in possession of a tape recording of his daughter admitting she made up the accusations for money. Flynt said he had bipolar disorder. His daughter Lisa Flynt-Fugate died in a car crash in Ohio in October 2014 at the age of 47. Flynt died from heart failure in Los Angeles at the age of 78.

Salling faced between four and seven years imprisonment after pleading guilty, but died from suicide by hanging prior to sentencing.

In 2017, at the age of 23, Ames died by suicide after a particular event of social media backlash following a Twitter post that she had made. Her death was ruled a suicide due to asphyxia by hanging by the Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office. Upon her autopsy, toxicology results revealed that she had cocaine, marijuana, the antidepressant Sertraline (Zoloft), and the anxiolytic Alprazolam (Xanax) in her system at her time of death. Close friends stated that cyberbullying led her to end her life. An investigation into her suicide was covered in the Audible series The Last Days of August by Jon Ronson after her husband, Kevin Moore, encouraged Ronson and his producer to look into the cyberbullying that he claimed had led to Ames's death. In the podcast, Ronson duly investigates the cyberbullying aspect of the story but then goes further and looks more closely at Moore's role in Ames's death by examining his prior relationships and Ames's history of mental illness. Ronson concludes that a number of people around Ames contributed to the poor mental state that led to her death and draws comparisons between Ames's suicide and the fictional suicide of the young girl in J. B. Priestley's seminal play An Inspector Calls. In the wake of Ames' death, and the deaths of several other adult performers that year, several initiatives within the industry were proposed to deal with the issue, including The August Project, a hotline conceived by Moore, and Pineapple Support, a non-profit launched in April 2018 by British performer Leya Tanit.

On January 21, the two doctors who performed the surgery on Sexy Cora were charged with negligent manslaughter. A statement from the clinic said the doctors were "extremely upset and deeply regret the death of patient C.W." and that they are giving "full and complete support" to authorities investigating her death.

Stephen Hill had been told he was terminated from Ultima DVD and was being evicted from the premises. The incident escalated, resulting in Hill attacking a man in the back of the building. Two others, including Herbert Wong, rushed to the victim’s aid and were cut with repeated swings of a movie prop Samurai-style machete. All three victims were rushed to Northridge Hospital Medical Center where Wong was pronounced dead.
Four days later on June 5th, Hill was surrounded by a SWAT team in a residence located around Azul Drive in West Hills. Hill climbed a nearby hill area and was brandishing a sword which he threatened to use to kill himself. Video recording shows that Hill was first shot near the right shoulder by a policeman, most likely with a non lethal gun. Hill, cornered, went closer to the edge of the cliff. A second shot was fired by another policeman. Then Hill got even closer to the edge, and only then attempted a jump that eventually killed him.

Between 1988 and 1989, Miyazaki mutilated and killed four girls, ages four to seven; he then sexually molested their corpses and ate portions of his third and fourth victims.
During the day, Miyazaki was a mild-mannered employee. In his own time, he selected children to kill randomly. He terrorized the families of his victims, sending them letters recalling in graphic detail what he had done to their children. To the family of victim Erika Namba, Miyazaki sent a morbid postcard assembled using words cut out of magazines, spelling out: "Erika. Cold. Cough. Throat. Rest. Death."
He allowed the corpse of his first victim, Mari Konno, to decompose in the hills near his home, then chopped off the hands and feet, which he kept in his closet, and which were recovered upon his arrest. He charred the remaining bones in his furnace, ground them into powder, and sent them to her family in a box, along with several of her teeth, photos of her clothes, and a postcard reading: "Mari. Cremated. Bones. Investigate. Prove."
Police found that the families of the victims had something else in common: they had all been bothered by strange phone calls. The phone would ring, but when answered, the person on the other end (presumably Miyazaki) would say nothing; if they didn't pick it up, the phone would sometimes ring for upwards of 20 minutes.
On July 23, 1989, Miyazaki, while attempting to insert a zoom lens into the vagina of a grade school-aged girl in a park near her home, was attacked by the girl's father. Miyazaki fled on foot, but returned to the park to retrieve his car, whereupon he was promptly arrested. A police search of his two-room bungalow turned up a collection of 5,763 videotapes, some containing pornographic anime and slasher films. Interspersed among them was video footage and pictures of his victims. He was also reported to be a fan of horror films and have an extensive collection from this genre. The centerpieces of his collection were the first five Guinea Pig films; he reportedly used the second film in the series, titled "Flower of Flesh and Blood", as a template for one of his killings. Miyazaki, who retained a perpetually calm and collected demeanor during his trial, appeared indifferent to his capture.
His trial began on March 30, 1990. Throughout the 1990s, Miyazaki remained incarcerated while Saitama Prefecture put him through a battery of psychiatric evaluations. Teams of psychiatrists from Tokyo University diagnosed Miyazaki as suffering from dissociative identity disorder or extreme schizophrenia. However, Tokyo district court judged that he was still aware of the gravity and consequences of his crimes and he was therefore accountable for them, sentencing him to death by hanging on April 14, 1997.
He was finally executed by hanging.

Eddie Griffin was killed when his SUV struck a freight train.
Medical examiners in Harris County, Texas, required dental records to identify Griffin.
"Basketball was never an issue with him," said former Timberwolves head coach Dwane Casey. "He needed more life lessons, and, unfortunately, he was never able to reach his potential."
Griffin's career was marred by alcohol problems which resulted in a series of league suspensions and court dates, many of them handled by Hollingsworth.
"He had a problem with alcohol and I think that was a medication for him," Hollingsworth said. "And I think that led to a lot of issues."
Griffin was charged Nov. 20, 2003, with felonious aggravated assault with a deadly weapon plus assault causing bodily injury.
The charges stemmed from an Oct. 25 incident in which Griffin allegedly slapped girlfriend Joann Romero three times and fired a pistol in her direction as she departed his home in southwest Houston, when he played for the Rockets.
Griffin was suspended three games by the NBA and was later treated at the Betty Ford Center for alcohol abuse.
Last season with the Timberwolves, he was suspended for five games in January after violating the league's anti-drug program.
"Everybody tried to help him from the top to the bottom of the organization," Casey said. "He just could not get it straight.
On March 30, 2006, Eddie Griffin was drunk and masturbating when he crashed his luxury SUV into a parked Suburban outside a store in Minneapolis, according to a lawsuit filed Thursday by the man whose Suburban was hit in the crash.
Several of the 911 callers that night said Griffin was drunk. One witness said Griffin told him he was watching pornography in a DVD player mounted on the dashboard of his Cadillac Escalade SUV when he struck a Chevy Suburban parked on University Avenue Southeas.
